About

Hi, I'm Justin N.. I live in the Ocala area of Central Florida with two young cats: Felix, an orange boy, and Cleo, a gray tabby girl.
They love the window hammock, and they love the outdoors even more. Felix stays close and comes when called. Cleo is the explorer. She'll stay out for up to a couple of hours and often comes home with a lizard.
When I started looking into what Cleo's lizard habit meant for her health, most of the advice I found was written for places without anoles, cane toads, or Florida summers. So I started Florida Cat Life to write down what I learn, with links to the veterinary and wildlife sources behind it.

What this site is (and isn't)
- It is a practical guide to safer outdoor time: catios and screened lanais, cat-proof fences, GPS trackers, lizards, toads, heat, and parasites.
- It isn't veterinary advice. I'm not a vet. I don't recommend specific medications or doses. I point you to the sources and to questions worth asking your vet.
- Where I'm describing my own setup or opinion, I say so. I don't publish made-up statistics, prices, or reviews of things I haven't used.
